Lake District

We moved to the Lake District from Harrogate the day I retired in 2016. The aim was to live in the shadows of the fells and be inspired by all the natural beauty to create music and art.

I do not have a fancy camera but I like to think I have a good eye for a shot and have taken enough photo's to know which ones will come out well, given the weather and light, which varies a lot here!

There is nothing quite like being on top of the fells with likeminded walkers. I was fortunate to stumble across some walking groups which helped me meet other walkers and make friendships.

Having sat behind a desk for the previous 18 years it was initially a strain to haul my sorry backside up the fells to take a photo, but with perseverance I gained my fitness back and the galleries tell the story of my felltop adventures.

I tend not walk when the weather is bad, I mean, why should I? I live here so I am going to pick the best weather days to get the most out of the walk and get the best pictures. I'm happy to wear the much despised 'Fair Weather Walker' badge, I've been wet and cold for too long in my previous incarnations, anyone can be uncomfortable.
